“The Amazing Spider Man #39” (1966)
You can get your hands on an original copy of “The Amazing Spider-Man #39,” which was first released in 1966. The comic, penned by Stan Lee, with illustrations from the legendary John Romita, marks the first appearance by the Green Goblin. The plot centers around Green Goblin’s revenge plot against Spider-Man where he plans to expose his secret identity to the world.
“Action Comics #252” (1959)
Zor-El, Superman’s long-lost cousin, lands on Earth and takes on a secret identity as Supergirl in “Action Comics #252.” Aside from her introduction, the issue also includes supervillain John Corben’s debut. The version for sale has been slightly restored: the cover has a small amount of retouch to enhance the color, it’s been cleaned and reinforced, and the staples have been replaced.
“Batman #313” (1979)
Another first, this 1979 Batman issue is the first time readers meet Tim Fox, son of Lucius Fox, who in later comics becomes Gotham’s new Batman after Bruce Wayne’s demise. This particular comic is in near mint condition, with the exception of slight wear and tear on the back. Beyond that, the comic doesn’t have any missing interior pages or cut coupons. It’s not warped and hasn’t been restored.
“Marvel Comics Fantastic Four #52” (1966)
“Marvel Comics Fantastic Four #52” made its debut in 1966, and marks the first time that we get to see Black Panther, as the story follows Fantastic Four on a mission to Wakanda. This vintage comic is in good condition, but if you want a more immaculate one you can buy a mint-condition version for $1,500.
“Tales of the Teen Titans #44”
A throwback to the ‘80s, “Tales of Teen Titans #44” features the debuts of Dick Grayson as Nightwing and Jericho, plus the Origin of Deathstroke the Terminator. The comic is in good condition, but there is slight edging around the corners.
“Tales of Suspense #52: The Crimson Dynamo Strikes Again” (1964)
Natalia Romanoff (a.k.a. Black Widow) is ready for her close-up in 1964’s “Tales of Suspense.” In the comic, Russia sends agents Black Widow and Boris to America to take out Iron Man and Professor Vanko. This original copy is in solid condition for being over 60 years old, but you will see a few wrinkles around the edges of the pages.
“Showcase #24” (1959)
Fans of the Green Lantern will love this DC Comics release from 1959. It features the first appearances from Hal Jordan (Green Lantern), and Carol Ferris.
