A good example of Nolan’s unique form of storytelling can be found in “Inception.” The sci-fi action film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a thief who infiltrates people’s dreams to pillage secrets from their subconscious. The stakes get raised when he’s tapped to complete a seemingly impossible task: planting a thought in someone’s mind. “Inception” is a psychological roller coaster that features an all-star cast of Elliot Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ken Watanabe, Tom Hardy, and Michael Caine.
“Memento” Blu-Ray
“Memento” remains one of Nolan’s most enduring works, and his first to be preserved by the National Film Registry. Released in 2000, the psychological thriller is about a widower (played by Guy Pearce) searching for his wife’s murderer while attempting to keep his short-term memory from fading. In honor of the film’s 20th anniversary, Pearce revealed how the movie made him question his own memory. “I would look at a photo and would be thinking about a memory around it and then go, ‘Well I don’t know if that memory is really true at all.’ It really made me question my own memories, so thank you, Chris Nolan.”
“Interstellar” Blu-Ray
Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway star in the 2014 sci-fi film that Nolan co-wrote with his brother, Jonathan. Set in the year 2067, “Interstellar” tells a story of survival. As crop blights and dust bowls threaten Earth’s future, a former pilot (McConaughey) leads a team of scientists on a celestial journey to uncover a possible future for mankind that’s located beyond the stars.
